only a handful of days 'til the close of the academic year for our middle-schooler and his fellow students here in NYC, and the sense of anticipatory joy the kids feel is contagious. the attitude in brooklyn seems a bit lighter these days, even among usually stony-faced grownups. the days are longer, the sun is stronger, and we go about with a spring in our step and sometimes even wish a pleasant "good morning" to our neighbors...
for me, summertime means festival time! i've got a handful of dates on the calendar so far: on june 9, i get to play the season's best backyard party and mini-fest at MOORE MUSIC IN THE HOUSE in rockville, MD alongside the fabulous CRYS MATTHEWS and the harmonious THE BELLE HOLLOWS. on july 13, i'll be returning to BLACK POTATOE MUSIC FESTIVAL in clinton NJ, and on july 29, i have the pleasure of warming up the HUNTINGTON FOLK FESTIVAL stage in huntington NY with my good friends MILES & MAFALE just prior to the great TOM RUSH's headlining set. check the CALENDAR page for further dates...
